Tree Fungus
While walking a local reserve last weekend i noticed this orange fungus growing high on a tree branch.I managed to get a photo with my camera zoom.it was probably 50-60mm length.any ideas .

Cheers ken,a new one for me.I guess the tree must be dead,as info suggests it grows on dead wood.This was 15ft up a tree.

Hi
Tremella are actually parasitic on other fungi. T.mesenterica is parasitic on Peniophora species. It is the Peniophora that is living on the dead wood.
