Slightly furry upper surface light brown paler towards the edge. 
but slot like gills/pores 
Not sure where to start.

Perhaps Plicatura crispa, Mal? (Syn. Plicaturopsis crispa.) Not one I've ever seen myself, though. Checklist says it has been found in North Yorkshire.
