1. June. In woodland, probably on Oak - not even sure it is a fungus
2. June. Small, in marshy ground
3. August. Coastal dunes
4. August. In mixed deciduous woodland, by the look of the leaves under Beech
5. August. Coniferous woodland - a Bolete? |

The first is an oak apple caused by the Biorhiza pallida gall wasp.
The last is Boletus badius.

| | | Re: Unidentified fungi 1 #2 looks like a Pholiotina/Conocybe
#3 possibly Psathyrella ammophila, which grows in bare sand/mobile sand dunes

For no. 2, you should perhaps also consider Galerina jaapii - nice little Galerina with a ring and which occurs in the habitat shown.
A quick look at the cap cuticle (filamentous) would decide if it was a Galerina of course - cellular cuticle in Conocybe and allied genera. But I guess it is a bit late for this? G. jaapii has distinctive, boat-shaped, ornamented spores.
I agree no. 3 looks right for Psathyrella ammophila.

| | | Re: Unidentified fungi 1 Hello,
The 2nd is in my opinion not a Galerina, because the ring is too stable. I think Pholiotina.
For the the 3rd I think the gill colour and the cap colour and most of all the stipe (which doesn't lock "brittle") suites more Agrocybe arenicola (= A. pediades complex) then a Psathyrella.
No. 4 has somthing of a Leucopaxillus.
best regards,
Andreas

Mal | My first reaction was that 1. was Biorhiza pallida, but something about the jizz isn't quite right. Oak Apples are multi-locular so by mid-June I'd expect to see little larval chambers in cross-section. A good check would be to visit the same site this year, the gall wasps usually have high site fidelity. |
