Looking from underneath an easy Collybia butyracea



but the cap is all wrong

Hello Mal,

the cap fits perfectly for Rhodocollybia butyracea var. butyracea in dry state. I have often observed, that the dry caps of var. butyracea are much more fibrouse then dry caps of var. asema. Besides the colour it is in my opinion the only real diference between the two varieties. In my opinion this would be enough for me to keep these two taxa as independent species ....
There is a Rhodocollybia filamentosa, which I have never seen and which is a kind of obscure species. Frirst times I thought my dry butyraceas might be this Rh. filamentosa.
