Looks like Stereum hirsutum.

Thanks, I thought that was a possibility when looking through the Gallery. It seems hard to identify fungi - when I match the shape and the colour, the texture seems different and when I match the texture and the shape, the colour is different! I'm getting Roger Phillips book for my birthday in a couple of weeks, so am looking forward to that.

Hello,

Substrate seems to be wood of Pinus sp.
Is the margin of central fungi's cup is not too thick to be of Stereum hirsutum ?

Pictures can be deceiving,there coould be two different fungi here. The one at the rear shows signs of being Stereum hirsutum, the one at the front does look a bit too robust for Stereum hirsutum, could be Bjerkandera adusta or possibly Postia caesia if its a pine stump.
