| | | Help with genus please I`m a bit stumped with this and would be greatful if someone could suggest a genus. Its growing in a small beech copse on the Yorkshire Wolds, possibly calcereous substrate

yes, Hebeloma. Judging from size and the rough floccules on the stipe, it may well be H. crustuliniforme (which is not as common as one may think, due to many misinterpreted collections).

After researching Hebeloma I would agree entirely. I`ve recorded probable H. crustuliniforme earlier this year but never seen mature specimens like these.
