found today growing right under a big old London Plane tree
tough ring
bulbous base
sweet marzipan smell
think spores are white yellow or cream
Thanks for any help, it's my first post so sorry if I have mucked anything up!    |

If it has chocolate-brown spores (you have done a spore print, haven't you!!!) I would say it was an Agaricus and if so and the flesh turns red when cut I would think A.silvaticus.
If it does not have chocolate-brown spores then I have no idea.

Peter | ... or possibly the specimen was immature (the gills look tightly packed) so it hadn't actually dropped any spores.
I'd have been thinking Agaricus too.
