| | | Cudoniella acicularis? Found growing on a rotting beech leaf C. acicularis is the closest I could "pin" it down to (ok, bad joke  ). Feel free to confirm/correct

seriously . . . . just from the habitat you should be able to rule out Cudoniella - trouble is most popular fungus books scarcely touch on this huge area of mycology . . .
