| | | Brown fungi for ID please Sorry in advance, I know that small brown fungi are pretty hard to identify at the best of time.
I found a load of these growing in the soil of my japonica plant. I use the plant as a dumping ground for used tea leaves and coffee, so not sure if that has any significance.
The fungi are quite small, the biggest is about 15mm across. parasol shaped with milky brown stem. Some have quite dark caps, but most are light chestnut brown. |

| | | Re: Brown fungi for ID please this could be something quite unusual, going by the habitat; but I don't think you'll be able to get a positive ID from any of your images I'm afraid
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: Brown fungi for ID please Thanks Chris. I suppose the spores came in the compost that I put in the plant? Time to invest in a microscope and the other more detailed testing materials. |

| | | Re: Brown fungi for ID please Hi Chris:
Could it be Gomphidius maculatus or something in that family? It is still going strong. Could I send some specimen somewhere for tests?
Thanks. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
