Crepidotus growing on rock
Is it unusual to find Crepidotus (Epibryus?) growing on rock? I see in the WAB A-Z that it has been found on a polystyrene cup. I had just finished explaining to some foragers about saprophytes, parasites etc when one came running up with a bracket-covered rock! That threw 'em...and me! The rock was quite green but not mossy.

On a similar note, I found a very pretty fully deliquesced (to the point of transparency) inkcap in August. I have it pretty much pinned down as C. Lagopus except that it was growing on its own from a mossy old spruce log. Something doesn't quite ring true as none of my sources have it growing directly from solid wood. Could it be something else?

I am waiting for some (quite poor) pictures of both which I will download if they ever arrive...

Meanwhile...any feedback greatly appreciated.
