| | | Help with fungi ID.. Please can you help me ID these..
I think they are the same family but found in the same field but far apart from each other.
Both found on grazing land with cows and sheep.
First one..
The second one..
Both together I brought them home to photograph.
I think they are ink caps, egg shell toadstool (panaeolus semiovatus) as there was lots of dung around.
Can someone please confirm or put me right...
Thank you.. |

| | | Re: Help with fungi ID.. Hello,
it is a Brittlestem, a Psathyrella from the prona- or may be the gracilis-group. The pinkish colour on dehydrating is a character for both these groups.
best regards,
Andreas

Andreas | Thanks Andreas, I have acquired 2 fungi books,
one collins gem, mushrooms and toadstools and collins wild guide..
I still find the pics in them really hard to make an id.
I thought they were ink caps so that's a start. |

The concept is a book primarly for beginners and therefor no microscopical features are given. Space was very limited anyway in the book, so this would have brought the text over the limit.
best regards,
Andreas
