I do not usually collect Psathyrella as I find them very difficult to identify, but having found a very photogenic group I have made an attempt and have confirmed they are difficult. The specimens in the photo below have:
Caps up to 15mm
Stems around 60mm
Gills with a white edge and no red lines
Spores broadly ellipsoid (10.4) 11.7 -12 x 5.8 - 6.8 Light brown in water, dull brown in KOH.
Cheilocystidia lageniform (some with apical crystalsfound in one mount)
Pleroscystidia langeniform with long straight necks.
The Nordic macromyces key takes me to P.hirta but I am not convinced
The Kits Van Waveren Key takes me to P.connata, still not convinced
Any Ideas?
