| | | Which Ganoderma please? Oh dear - we've been out and about again! Friday 29th October, a visit to Exbury Gardens on the edges of the New Forest in Hampshire, a bit south of Southampton on the banks of the Beaulieu River. These were growing at the base of a large living Oak tree: the older one sort of cracked and felt hollow under the surface crust when I poked my thumb into it. The younger ones were close to the ground and had grown around grass stems and a Holly leaf which still looked green and healthy so I assume they grow pretty fast and were still actually developing?
I wondered about G. resinaceum or lucidum but as usual my tatty specimens don't look anything like the examples in the books ot on the internet!
Thanks for looking - as ever, any help gratefully received.
