| | | To all the Funguys and girls ;) Hi
Im new here and just thought i would say hi...after having Chris Packham pretty much guilt me into getting off the sofa and going out and about on autumn watch i decided to go on a nice nature walk today and photograph some fungi
now my question to you mushroom lovers is
what advice could you give me in finding the very beautiful mushroom fly agaric to photograph.
Im currently located in southern britain (around the reading/marlow/henley area) after a splendid day out today i think i have honed my photography skills to handle a more colourful mushroom lol
any advice most welcome
thanks again |

You might have to wait till next year. They have just about finished where we are.
Cheers

| | | Re: To all the Funguys and girls ;) I agree i think you may be too late this year although you may get lucky,i found some here in the south west in mid September. Look for birch trees, the ones i found were in low sparse ankle tripping brambles under birch trees .September was by far the best fungi month in my area. |

Welcome to WAB.
Good luck with your search. They are my very favourites (apart from a couple of others ). If not this year, maybe next. I agree, birch woods seem to be a habitat they like.

| | | Re: To all the Funguys and girls ;) Hello and welcome.
In 2008 I photographed them in the snow in late November in my garden - so still a possibility of seeing them this year. I'm lucky enough to have them popping up under birch trees a short stroll from the back door . |

| | | Re: To all the Funguys and girls ;) We've just got another small flush of them in the last day or so here in North Yorkshire, and in good condition. Check out birch or spruce woods or heathland with birch. |
