| | | Lepista sueva?
Found these in decidious woodland, growing in a little clump. Almost in a circular fashion. Apologies for the lack of focus on the gills.
I thought they might be field blewit. |

| | | Re: Lepista sueva? Thanks. Although they do not smell bad or foul. They have a normal mushroomy smell. (should have mentioned in the original post.) |

| | | Re: Lepista sueva? The only reason I mentioned the smell is because Clitocybe nebularis is reported as having a foul smell. But thanks for the info, am very new to this as you can probably tell... |

Jordan describes it as "strong, sweet or fruity" and the new Collins guide doesn't mention odour at all for C. nebularis! Still, I guess it all depends on one's individual sense of smell and how the brain interprets it: a beautiful scent to one person will be "cat's wee" to another!

| And I'm not in the least bit perturbed by Phallus impudicus... But (as an aside) my pitcher plant (I forget the species) flowered this year and attracted many wasps... it smelt like stale armpits | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
