| | | Re: Fungus on a fly? There is another thread 'Cluster Fly with Fungus' which may or may not be connected to what you have found. I am just guessing though. |

| | | Re: Fungus on a fly? Yes it is fungal and it might be Hymenostilbe muscarium which is the imperfect state of Cordyceps forquignonii .

Mal | agreed - though not sure that H. muscarium is accepted as being the anamorph of the Cordyceps
Chris
PS being a bit picky but I think it should be Hymenostilbe muscaria . . .

| | | Re: Fungus on a fly? Thanks Mal, I'd remembered that there's a Cordyceps on caterpillars but couldn't find anything on flies. Glad you liked the photo cervinae!
(Apologies for going off-thread but did you get that LCD digital microscope?) Quote: |

| I'd just been wondering about LCD microscope's as my eyes are starting to show signs of long-term diabetes damage and I'm finding it a bit too much strain to use the compound I got earlier this year. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
