| | | learning help i live in croydon and am trying to find out were i can learn to identify edible wild mushrooms in my area as i have never gone picking wild mushrooms |

I would suggest you first read the forum rules concerning edibility Is my fungus edible or psychotic requests
Your next step would be to search your area for any fungi forays that are taking place and book yourself on one!
You will hopefully be amongst knowledgeable ‘locals’ who can advise you far better than any website.
I would also suggest getting a few books on the subject. A list of which can be found here: Fungi | Wild About Britain
Since you have ‘never gone picking wild mushrooms’ before and have little knowledge of this science I strongly recommend you just admire their beauty for the short term. A much safer option!

John | I agree, you can get some stunning locations and pics of nature, and also find a local group, and best learn all that isn't good to take home, but great for the study of nature. Put the work in first, the benefits "MAY" come later!
