| | | Large Fungi for ID, please Found growing alongside a road in Cornwall. 10 -12 inches in diameter at widest point. Very spongy all over, including stem. There was a smaller, presumably younger one nearby, same colour, more domed in shape, not spongy.
Something thinks it's good to eat, whatever it is! |

| | | Re: Large Fungi for ID, please By the look of the surrounding habitat, we can see that the area is dehydrated. Most fungi lose some of their identifying characteristics when the conditions change mid-growth, and B. edulis is no exception  Remember just how variable fungi can be! To add, check out the size of that badboy Hama, it's 10-12 inches across. You find me a Bay Bolete that large and I'll buy you a pint fella
