Large chocolate brown jobbies.
I recently came across a ring of large, deep chocolate brown mushrooms, very similar to Lepista Saeva in size and appearance, growing in grassland. Gills were off - white, stipe concolorous with gills with no blue or violet colouration. No photos sadly.
Nothing in the reference books seems to fit. Has anyone encountered Lepista Saeva with this colour variation, or are there any suggestions as to what these might be? Thanks, puzzled of Whitley Bay.

could also be what the barcodes defence were dropping in their penalty area when they played Blackpool at SJP earlier this season
