| | | Giant Russula? ID please Sorry this is a bad picture. Underneath I thought it resembled Russula more than amanita. It has deep broad well spaced gills, a pure clean white stem. Everything pure white and the size of a dinner plate. The sides rise up to make a concave bowl. very fragile and easily broken. About a month ago (I have difficulty putting pictures up immediately) in long wet grass beside a cornus under a spruce. Chalky soil. |

| | | Re: Giant Russula? ID please Can't be at all sure without a gill/stipe shot & overall habitat description (and in my case, even with that information most of the time ) but I think these might be Spotted Toughshank - Collybia maculata or possibly but I think less likely, Trooping Funnel - Clitocybe geotropa
Regards,
Mike. |

Both the names you gave seem to apply to the same fungus, no? Leuco... and clitocybe. Although I think geotropa didn't come into it. The pictures I saw were a perfect match.
