Stump Puffball?

Hi All,

I came across these on the stump of a living tree. They are about 3 cm in width. The closest guess I can make is that they are Stump puffballs, but the shape seems slightly different from what I've been able to see on the internet and my books. Would anyone be able to tell me what they are?

These are the Stump Puffball Lycoperdon pyriforme. Is is the only puff ball that grows on wood.

I've got these erupting all over my bog garden (apparently growing from the woodchips we dug into it) and as Peter says they're the only puffball to grow from wood and these most certainly look like they are
