I found a few Dermoloma last week.

With non-amyloid spores, and of the right size I decided they were the most common ones,
Dermoloma cuneifolium.
I went back this week and there were some more, with various degrees of blackening. So I picked a few and looked to see if the stem went reddish on handling and whether they blackened in the way that I've had some
D magicum do before.
Well the stems did bruise reddish, but the specimens I took home haven't extended their blackishness as much as I'd hoped, to be reasonably sure that they are
D magicum.

There were quite a few as black as the last one - and there weren't any blackening waxcaps in the vicinity last week, so I don't think they are
H conica remants

.
Looking back at the ones from last week you can see that there was some reddening on the stem were I handled them, but they did not blacken. They were in the very same area as those of this week. So I think they will be the same ...
I've had
D cuneifolium that do blacken with normal weathering. so with these I'm really not sure whether they are
D cuneifolium or
D magicum, or even whether they are possibly one and the same thing, and not distinct species ....
Any thoughts on this?
