Is this lactarius aurantiacus?

the species one is most likely to confuse with aurantiacus is Lactarius fulvissimus which has a decurrent tooth to the gills

unfortunately you can't see this on your photograph; another problem is which concept of Lactarius aurantiacus one is using . . . . the Lactarius monograph in the Fungi of Northern Europe series treats it in a wide sense, including Lactarius mitissimus and L. aurantiofulvus, whereas Bon recognises these as separate species
