Is this a Lactarius?
Seen in pine woodland today. I'll attach photo of the underside.

Yes, either L. deliciosus or L. deterrimus.

I believe L. deliciosus is usually associated with pine while L. deterrimus appears with spruce. So if you literally meant pine woods rather than just using "pine" to mean coniferous, then it's probably deliciosus.

And looking at your photo again, those do look like pine needles around the fungus!
