We are not all experts in Fungi

Hello all

Firstly can I just thank everyone for all their input and hard work, especially when answering the many queries from members!

In the majority of replies the answer(s) are concise, polite and very well thought out. Some of our more knowledgeable members also extend their replies with illustrations and comparisons, something you will find difficult to get anywhere else.

However ... you knew that was coming from me didn’t you

Occasionally we forget that not all members are ‘experts’ or even have basic knowledge of the science of ‘Fungi’. As a consequence of this ‘forgetfulness’ we sometimes reply with a comment(s) that can offend or be impolite.

We also assume sometimes that members know who we are and where our expertise lies i.e. I didn't know that Neil was an expert in French polishing or Les has a MSc in Nuclear Science

Of course, if a thread contains inappropriate content, report it rather than add to it and therefore escalate the problem.
