| | | Fungus for ID Good evening all. I'm curious about these, they have dark brown gills, 1cm caps, found several growing together in open grass land. Cheers! |

| | | re: Fungus for ID Neil's jocular but rather obtuse and unhelpful answer to someone new to the forum is, I am assuming, by way of confirmation that Iain has indeed found Psilocybe semilanceata - Liberty Cap (The Magic Mushroom) which since 2005 has been classified as a Class A drug and for people to possess or sell them is now a criminal offence.

I would suggest you read this before you reply: Is my fungus edible or psychotic requests

| | | re: Fungus for ID How fascinating! Thanks David and I yeah John I just wanted to know what it was, I wouldn't ask if it was good eating or anything. I just remembered I had a few others as well...
This white bolete looking one stank to high heaven! Notice the yellowy drops underneath. Very squashy, found in deciduous woodland.
There were three or four clusters of these around a big old tree (sorry I really need to improve my knowledge of trees - maybe a beech going by the leaves?).
Pretty sure this was a Blusher as it stained reddish.. |

| | | Re: Fungus for ID Ah great. Yes it is the same specimen but the right hand image was taken with flash, the left image has probably the more accurate colour. Thanks Chris! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
