Struggling to ID Two Boletes

Found yesterday, and fairly sure these will be Leccinum sp. : -

No.1 - Photo shows the carpet of Larch needles, but there were also several Birch in the immediate vicinity.
Several fruitbodies, with cap sizes approx 75mm, and overall height approx 150mm.
White pore surface & flesh.
No apparent bluing on cutting or bruising.


No.2 - Single specimen Growing amongst Silver Birch.
Cap size approx 100mm, overall height approx 180mm.
Again, white pore surface & flesh, and no bluing on cutting or bruising - apart from a very slight hint of bluing towards base of cut stipe.


Any help towards ID's much appreciated.

Keying out No.1 (with Kibby key) brings me to L.scabrum, which I’d perhaps hastily discounted due to the markedly different cap colouration from previous L.scabrum’s I’ve seen. However, searching the net on that basis does reveal quite a few photos of L.scabrum which appear similar. – Another case of species variability maybe, but I’m now reasonably satisfied that this is what they are.

Further searching on No.2 is bringing me to the conclusion that this is likely Ghost Bolete – Leccinum holopus, and, other than for mention of possible greenish tinges in older specimens, the Kibby key again seems to support this. Subsequent web scouring for L.holopus has brought up mention of pale smooth moist cap, light reddish brown stem scales, and often in sphagnum swamp habitat under Birch, which fits very well.
