Newbie with an image problem!

Hi All,

I have just joined WAB as I have a beginners interest in fungi.

A mundane question first of all please. Does anyone have any idea why I can see images in some threads and not in others. I have also 'allowed' www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk in my pop-up settings, can't think of anything else.

Also a box at the bottom of the page says I cannot post attachments - is this part of the same problem?

Have treid the FAQs without success.

Welcome to Wab CY

we no longer have attachments in the forums - you have to post pics in the Gallery and link from there - see the how to at the top right corner.

with seeing images it may be that some threads had attachments that are now missing , or that you are having trouble with images linking from 3rd party sites which some do - give us a couple of examples of threads where you can and cant and we can probably tell you for sure.

Thanks but am not sure were you mean by the top right hand corner. I have just uploaded an image to the Gallery - do I get notified when it is 'approved'?

look at the top right of the forum screen under the calender advert but above whos online for comon how to questions

Gallery uploads are normally dealt with in about 48 hrs depending on how busy the Gallery eds are. but if you want to upload to post into the forums you can put the pic in either the forum images or unidentified galleries which are unmoderated so the pics go straight in.

hope that clears things up , but feel free to ask if not as we all know how confusing it can be for new people at first
