| | | Skin reaction? After FungiJohn just introduced me to The Jelly Mystery (I'm really starting to think I shouldn't have poked it) it has reminded of an incident about a month ago when I was out in the local woods foraging. I picked a fungus with my left hand which I'm sure had a brown cap and was gilled (lousy memory) but felt slimy to the touch (can't even remember if it was raining). I put it down again and went on my way and collected a few B. badius. About 5 minutes after handling that unknown fungus my left hand felt as if the flesh had been scalded from holding a cup of intensely hot tea. I think it lasted about half an hour. Was it all in my mind (quite possibly) or is there fungi out there that can cause skin irritation on touching? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
