| | ID please (Mycena?) Hi
I thought this may have been a Milking Bonnet until I snapped one and saw clear liquid coming from it. Growing in leaf litter in an area consisting of very young oak trees together with brambles fern and various grasses . Any idea what it could be please?
First image is a group of them under a young oak tree; second image contains the handle of my walking stick to show the size; third image is of one I brought home to double check the sap, and which I captured with a macrolens therefore the ruler markings are mms.
Thanks in advance

| | | Re: ID please (Mycena?) There are only a few Mycena that "bleed" and even fewer that bleed clear sap. M abramsii is one that grows on wood during the early part of the season but that is usually darker than your find. Yours looks most like M arcangeliana, which should not have sap. Without a microscope I think you are unlikely to get much further.

Many thanks. In the event that I don't have a microscope and that I was hard pushed to get any sap out of it (especially at home less than 5 mins. later, under a magnifying glass) I'm happy to go along with that.
