| | | Hygrocybe miniata var. mollis Think I've got this one right - it was found growing in acid soils amongst Sphagnum and grasses such as Deschampsia flexuosa under Birch. The colour put me off at first but everything else seemed to fit and then I found reference to a yellow version of H.miniata named var. mollis.
Cap was 25mm in diameter and the stem 3-4mm in width.
Spores were approx 7.4 x 4.8 microns and a few were distincly "pear" shaped or were very slightly constricted.
Cells of the gill trama short and slightly inflated:
