Unidentified Pillar Shaped Fungus

Found in a troop of several similar growing in mixed woodland. About 9 cm tall. Stem is about 2 cm wide at the top, increasing to about 3 cm at the bottom. Flesh is firm, almost hard, with a sharp damp smell. Wondered if they could just be something immature, but I've never come across them before.

This are young basidomes of Clitocybe geotropa.

Thanks for the ID. None of my books show them well at that stage of their development, but some online images show it clearly. My best guess based on look and smell etc. was young clitocybe nebularis, so not too far off.
