Yesh, I believe you're correct!

I don't think rutilans ever been recorded on eucalyptus in this country . . . . seems very unlikely, as the tree is a dicot in the myrtle family and the fungus is a species of conifer wood

are you absolutely sure about the log?

My confirmation was based on the fact that there's really little else that looks like the mentioned species. The photography definitely shows it

yeah im definatly sure of the log this one is in my back garden funnily enough. i cut the tree down a couple of years ago. just put the logs around to see what i could bring into the garden. so definatly eucalyptus tree log .
