Firstly huge apologies if this has already been discussed, the fungus forum is a bit scarey and I don't come here very often.

However, just incase no one has heard of this yet, there is an application for the Iphone that is 'Wild Mushrooms of North America and Europe by Roger Phillips ' and its free and might be useful to those who enjoy being out looking for mushrooms and other fungi.

EDIT: The full app is £1.19 (hardly too bad for a book in you pocket!) but the Free one is the 'Lite' version which is just a smaller database of species.

Your post just made me check the android market for a similar product and there seems to be a fungi identifier in developement on there. Never even thought to check until now. I'll still carry a couple guidebooks though

That's brilliant, thanks for posting I would never have thought of an app for wild mushrooms. Got the Good Beer Guide now this, all I need now is a Collins Butterflies of Britain and Europe and I'll be good to go,

Great. I recently got the new iPhone 4. It's great. Did you know that there is also the FSC wildlife guides to things like bees and ladybirds. They are great. But only the ladybird one seems to download. Anyway the ladybird guide is brilliant.

Hi all
just had a bit of a hunt on the net and came across
Aviasoft Pocket Fungi 2.0.1
not sure if suitable for my phone but maybe for others? Seems to be for Windows Mobile o/s, Dot Net 2.0CF, QVGA, VGA, PC
only has 150 "common" fungi?
I've added a link or two here but the mods may remove it.
