| | | Fungus identification please
I took this photo recently at a nature reserve in S.Yorkshire. Could anyone identify the fungus for me please. It appears to have almost a furry coating on the cap.  |

This is a Lactarius and I would say L torminosus.

Thank you for your replies. I'm becoming interested in photographing and identifying fungi but find it difficult. I'm not getting far with my Roger Phillips book on Mushrooms which only adds to my confusion. |

I am happy to go along with Andy's choice. I was relying on the colour of the fruitbodies we get round hear and ignoring the azonate cap

These are the ones I've shot so far; all at the nature reserve I visit. The botanical names have been found through my Roger Phillips book and the reserve's web page. And now of course with your help regarding the Lactarius torminosus. At this time I have two more that need identification if you don't mind helping me out. Will post soon. Fungi | | |
