Another fungus from a lunchtime walk across campus. Having been through the whole of Rogers boletus listed online, this is the only one that seems to fit (Beletus impoliticus). Can anyone confirm?
Cap is about 8cm across, stem is thick and yellow, and has faint purplish reticulations (think that's the right term?) running up from the base. Was found growing under an oak tree in the leaf litter, open woodland. Flesh goes slightly blue when bruised / cut.
I think I read somewhere that they are rare, so will take them back and leave them there if so.
