I found this in mixed habitat woodlands (beech, oak, conifers) It had a pale flesh colour to it and the stem reminded me of am amethyst deceiver, so was wondering if this could be some type of deceiver? It was a very beautiful fungus, just like a small flower. was about 1-2 inches high, no smell apparent. Any thoughts much appreciated. Once again this was taken on my mobile so picture quality not great i'm afraid    |

Saxlingham Nethergate sounds like a Shakespearean actor of the 1930s, with a fondness for claret and cigars 
yes I would say Laccaria laccata; if you keep an eye on the YNU/MYFG/WAB foray thread tomorrow there will be something this may well relate to - I have been looking at something very like this today . . . .

Thank you for your prompt response Chris, I will certainly be looking out for your posts tomorrow! I questioned myself on it as I usually spot Laccaria's in patches, but this was sitting alone, no others in the area at all. I will look forward to your related item  |
