| | | JellyTongue? I've hopefully got this one right. Found growing from a stump in dipton woods (fairly mixed woodland) I believe it is Pseudohydnum gelatinosum.
Here it is in situ
And here's a cut sample with the "teeth" showing

I thought the name Dipton rang a distant bell! Just checked and I was there with the British Mycological Society in 1988 . . . . makes me feel very old

| | | Re: JellyTongue? When I'm in York I'm working (sigh), my hiking is mainly done in Northumberland. This was my first wander in Dipton Wood (the girlfriend used to forage there when she was young with her father) but I'll certainly will be going back. the myriad of fungi (many I'm just not knowledgeable enough to even take a stab at) was amazing. We're also blessed with several woods and fields near where we are Gateshead
I'll certainly keep my eye's open whilst wandering to and from work (and a camera handy) but will probably need help on I.D
