| | | Orange fungus id Hi
Hope someone can help identify this attractive fungus I discovered growing from the base of an oak tree.
Had almost spongy texture, cream underside which darkened slightly when bruised. I did take photo of underside but was too blurred (mobile phone camera).
Cheers

I would never have had the courage to disagree with John though...

Seriously though, no matter how 'out there' your suggestion is, say it! I am pretty sure John or anyone else for that matter, would hold absolutely nothing against anyone for it! |

plus the fact that Charlie says that the underside bruised a darker colour,
which Meripilus does, but not sure if c.o.w does this or not though ?
ive found a few c.o.w which looked very similar to this one, but this one looks somewhat different to my inexperienced eye,
