A few more from yesterday for id please

Ken,I found a reference to that article in 2007 but could not find the details.The site where i found these is south gloucestershire 3 miles from the old severn bridge.I am familiar with weston big wood,its approx 20 miles away i think.I have gained a sample today and am doing a spore print.One thing i am a little confused with are the stipes.some are very broad and sturdy others are slender.I wonder if there are 2 species or its just natural growth variation.The sample i got today was the largest i have seen 110mm tall all in and 45mm cap,a good part of the stipe was buried.

It seems there is a lot of variability. Fungi Europaei 9 gives stem dimensions of 1.5-10 x 0.3-1 cm so this would probably encompass your range. Cap can be 3-8 cm. The gills on your specimens also seem to be attached by a slight tooth, rather than completely free. But this seems to be within the variability of the species ('lames libres a sublibres' according to Fungi Europaei).

Thanks ken and nick for you time on this one,awaiting on the spores ,nothing showing yet.I am happy with the id though.Thanks for your time and knowledge. Is it rare enough that its worth passing the info on for records etc ?.
