Unidentified mushroom line-up

Hi all,

Could anyone share their thoughts the identity of these 5 mushrooms? When I found them, I thought they were all the same type, but now I'm having doubts.

NB: Being a newbie, I am obviously not planning on eating them. I'm just curious about their identity.

All were found in a damp, grassy field in the New Forest. 1 & 2 were in an open area near the centre of the field, whereas 3, 4 & 5 were closer to the edge of the field, sheltered by a tree.

1 & 2 have dark ash / brown gills. Caps feel slimy.

3, 4 & 5 have chocolate brown gills. Caps feel slimy, except 3 which felt slimy before but appears to have dried quicker than the rest.

I can now add that the spore print for 1 & 2 is dark purple, whereas it is light brown for 3, 4 & 5.

Any thoughts?

I am not going to be of much help but all I can say is that the second group are probably Inocybe. You have managed to collect the perfect selection of LBJ's which even the more adventurous of us occasionally "throw over the shoulder" because we know just how difficult it will be to come up with an id.

That's very interesting. I picked these specifically because they were the most widely available (there were hundreds of them everywhere I looked); I mistakenly thought that, being so common, they would be a well known variety.

Anyway, thanks for the information!
