Found yesterday, growing in conifer woodland under Larch.
Just this one group of eight fruitbodies seen. (Two caespitose clusters of three, and one of two).
Cap sizes to approx 100mm.- Stipe heights to approx. 125mm
Didn't seem to be firmly attached to roots etc., but were growing immediately adjacent to trunk.
I keep coming back to thinking along the lines of
Collybia, but nothing at all in any of my books seems to match with these. (I know that
C.maculata can be very variable, but surely the cap colouration on these is beyond the range for that.

).
Any thoughts on ID much appreciated.
