| | | Fungi for I.D.Please Found under a silver birch log (I think it was silver birch). Nothing was really evident from above, it was only when it was turned over that we saw this.
Hopefully this will be an easy one |

| | | Re: Fungi for I.D.Please The only thing I can suggest is Brittle Cinder - Kretzschmaria deusta, but that is described as favouring Beech.
Other than that, this is beyond me, so hopefully someone will have a more definite ID

| | | Re: Fungi for I.D.Please The one that sometimes can get mixed up with this species is Bjerkandera adusta but I think that this is as Mike suggested. Has the grey surface got pores or is it smooth?
