These were growing in a meadow containing scattered scots pine.Quite small ,approx 20 - 30mm max tall and similar cap width.I first thought they had shrivelled and dried out but after finding many more i realised these have an unusual shaped cap with alot of variation.

They are very dry and wizened up! Fungi can be difficult to ID when they are fresh but become much more difficult when in this condition.

Thanks for your reply ditiola,i usually only take photo,s of fungi i think may be identified on here but sometimes i just take a chance

.I found these in groups in 5 or 6 different areas of a large field,they all looked dry and going over so i assumed it might just be their normal appearance
