| | 4 from yesterday? Hi all,
grateful for help with these please:-
under beech, single, early showing of grey spotted amanita, excelsa spissa?
strange on rotting pine log, trooping/clustered perhaps need to see it develop, maybe a young pholiotus or lentinus spp?
And a lovely little marshy meadow fungus, thought snowy waxcap, but no, but it may be snowy meadow cap, camarophylus nivea (if thats still correct!)
And finally this in pinewoods, no idea, sorry for lack of detail.......
Cheers

John | Inocybe, Oh heck no, do I have to find out about those too..............!
Thanks a lot John, thats grand - Rubescens, theres lots of those about at the mo but I was put off by the appearance(jizz) and singleness of this specimen plus size is quite large and the veil remains are so grey and cap is browner than others seen, even though it appears to discolour reddy where the slug has kindly eaten a bit, so my doubts are wrong, I'm very grateful!
Pholiota flammans seems spot on, but they are on WAB Gallery as rare except in scotland, so if right (I'll go back, ) thats a good record - in Yorkshire too Chris (Dovestones).
Anyone else help with the possible Inocybe?
Cheers

Ken | Hi Ken
Any Inocybe should be thrown over the shoulder
Pholiota flammans is quite common on dead conifer and probably under recorded previously.
Still a nice find though!

| | | Re: 4 from yesterday? Thanks again John, nice find indeed!
I must try and get back when its in full bloom.
I always suspect under-recorded where Jordan/Phillips etc say rare............
Cheers
