All found yesterday: -
No.1 - Confident these are Dappled Webcap -
Cortinarius bolaris.
No.2 - Fairly confident these are Tawny Funnnel -
Lepista flaccida.
No.3 -
Russula, - but any thought on species? Not holding my breath on this one, as I've tried similar looking
Russula's previously. They were growing in huge numbers in very boggy area of Beech -
Fagus woodland.
Extremely viscid, sticky caps - sizes to approx 100mm. one seemed to have a very very faint smell of what I would describe as menthol. Other than that, no particular smell bar the usual vaguely mushroomy.
No.4 - Which
Amanita? - Growing under Oak -
Quercus
Largest cap size approx 120mm. Stipe approx 170mm overall.
Deeply buried volva (broke away when picking smaller specimen for gill shot).
No particularly unusual smell.
Initially suspected Deathcap, but the grey colour and lack of radiating fibres on caps doesn't fit. Possibly washed out Grey Spotted Amanita's?
No.5 -
Tricholoma? - Found growing under Beech -
Fagus.
Cap sizes to approx 100mm, stipes similar in length.
Initially thought might be Soapy Knight -
Tricholoma saponaceum, but no distinctive soapy smell apparent.
Any Confirmations / ID's / Other, much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike.
