| | | Fungi found in grassland on chalk, ID Help please OK, I missed 2 from my bumper haul.....
I am pretty sure this one is marasmius oredes
This one had got me stumped, found on grass, on chalk, around 5cm in height, cap about 2cm, on it's own, spore print dark brown, gills slightly decurrent, light tan at first drying a darker brown, maybe cortinarius..... help!
Thanks again, Stewart |

agree with Marasmius oreades - the other one looks suspiciously like Stropharia coronilla - but with no distinctive ring zone ?
it looks to have been carefully collected / handled (it's amazing how many characters can disappear with careless handling) - was there any sign of a ring?
I'll have to have a think
definitely not a Cortinarius though . . . .
cheers
Chris

Did it have a distinctive smell, do you know?
