A while back I was amazed to read somewhere that Roy Watling had found a Boletus edulis growing on Ronas Hill in Shetland, presumably clinging to a stunted and windswept dwarf willow.
Anyway just had a call from my Dad who said that they'd been walking on Ronas and came across this 'strange looking mushroom'. It didn't have gills it had tubes and he described it as poisonous-looking
Unfortunately they didn't have their camera but he took a bit home, so here are the pics. Apparently it's on its way to me in a jiffy bag
