I called in at a wooded spot on the way home from work and had a brief but fruitful walk. There were a lot of Russula around (one day i will try to tackle this group) but there were a few others i'll have a stab at.


I've never actually seen any of these so i was very pleased to finally find some.
Mutinus caninus (sorry about the focus issue with the second shot)


At fist glance i thought this was a Leccinum scabrum with cap discolouration and just showing a dark stem, but you can see in the second image a greenish flush at the base of the stem, the dark floccules and the mottled cap are steering me towards
Leccinum variicolor
Boletus Parasiticus this is a new site from the one i found last year, always a bonus.

and speaking of bonuses, the first B edulis i've seen this year.
