| | | ID Help please Hello everyone
Ive been taking photographs, some are even pre digital, for many years but I am only now catching up with identification. I have some pretty good books but I find that some shots do not seem to match any descriptions in the books.
I could do with a bit of help with these three. To be frank I cannot remember where I took the photograph of the purple, jelly like fungus so I am really intrigued.
Thanks in advance |

| | | Re: ID Help please hi
top one could be a Hebeloma - impossible without a microscope (and still not easy with one!)
middle one looks rather like Suillus grevillei - were there larches around?
bottom one is (probably) the "imperfect" state of (definitely) the discomycete Ascocoryne sarcoides
cheers
Chris
one problem with looking at old pictures is that unless one is some sort of saint and has accompanying notes on habitat, smell, etc. it can make identification quite tricky

| | | Re: ID Help please The classic brown discoloration on the caps and the chunky, erratic stipes shown by the species in the first image suggest to me Collybia maculata. The habitat would also support that Just a suggestion! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
